The car accident injury lawyers at Iacobelli Law Firm are all too familiar with the tragic consequences of impaired driving. Many of our most serious injury claims arise from car accidents involving impaired drivers. Despite the ongoing education and police enforcement, far too many drivers continue to operate motor vehicles while impaired.
The York Regional Police have recently announced the arrest of 15 drivers for impaired driving in less than 72 hours. The arrests occurred over the weekend between Friday, July 8, 2016, through Sunday July 10, 2016. Among the 15 arrested, were three that were involved in motor vehicle collisions.
We hope that the continued police enforcement will resonate with drivers. According to police, impaired driving continues to be the number one criminal cause of death in Canada. Please do Not drink and drive.
There are reports that police have made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run accident that occurred on July 2, 2016. This Toronto hit-and-run accident occurred on Finch Avenue near Keele in the vicinity of York University.
