On Saturday February 2, 2013, there was a fatal motor vehicle and pedestrian accident in the area of Birchmount Road and St. Clair Avenue East in Toronto.   According to reports, a 65 year old woman was walking on the sidewalk along Birchmount Road, when she was struck by a Chevrolet Aveo in a driveway at 550 Birchmount Road.  

The female pedestrian was taken to hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.

There was a fatal pedestrian accident in Richmond Hill, Ontario at Jefferson Side Road and Alpaca Drive on the morning of December 17, 2012.  The victim of this Richmond Hill fatal pedestrian accident was a 64 year-old woman from the Town of Richmond Hill.  Sadly, the woman succumbed to her injuries at hospital.

There are reports of a fatal head-on collision on Highway 404 in Aurora, Ontario.  This highway 404 head-on collision occurred on the early morning of Saturday December 15, 2012.  Sadly, the driver's of both vehicles involved in this York Region car accident died.  

First and foremost we offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the the men who were killed in this highway 404 head-on collision.  This will, no doubt, be a very difficult time for all those affected by the loss of their loved one.  

This fatal highway 404 car accident is under investigation by police.  According to early reports, this accident involved a Dodge Neon that collided with a Honda Accord in the northbound lanes of Highway 404, shortly before 6 am. The Neon was driven by a 25-year-old man from Markham, and it was apparently travelling south in the northbound lanes when it collided with an Accord driven by a 57-year old man from Unionville.  

It was not immediately known why the Neon was in the wrong lanes on highway 404, and police continue their investigation.   From a civil negligence view, it appears that the vehicle travelling on the wrong side of highway 404 was almost certainly negligent and clearly should not have been there.  The family of the other driver involved in this tragic head-on collision may be able to advance a wrongful death claim for their losses.  In Ontario, when a person is killed in a car accident as a result of someone else's negligence, the immediate family members will be able to advance a wrongful death claim.   Wrongful death compensation can include claims for the loss of guidance, care, companionship and services of their loved one.

There are reports of a fatal head-on collision that occurred in Courtice, Ontario near Oshawa.  This fatal head-on car accident occurred in the early morning of Saturday, December 1, 2012 on Taunton Road near Rundle Road, in Courtice.  Sadly, a young man sustained fatal injuries and a woman was seriously hurt in this Courtice Ontario head-on crash. The deceased man has been identified as Timothy Smith, age 23, of Freeland Avenue in Bowmanville.

The Durham Regional police were investigating the circumstances of this accident. The roadway was closed for several hours while the Durham Regional Police Collision Investigation Unit investigated. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.  Although More information would be necessary in order to determine who is at fault for this Courtice, Ontario fatal car accident, early reports from the police indicate that a Pontiac Grand Prix, being operated by a 20-year-old woman, was westbound on Taunton Road East when, for unknown reasons, she crossed the centre line and struck an eastbound Chevrolet Cobalt head on. The Cobalt was  being operated by a 23-year-old male from Bowmanville, Ontario.
